In August 2021, UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) announced its new open access policy for research publications that acknowledge funding from its councils. This new open access policy was applied to peer-reviewed research articles submitted for publication from 1 April 2022, and will be applied to long-form publications in 2024. As part of this new open access policy, UKRI has decided to not allow future UKRI open access funding to be used for publication charges in hybrid journals, unless covered by a translational agreement with Jisc.
ACAMH would like to confirm that our publishing partner Wiley, have a transitional agreement with Jisc and reassure that authors who are funded by UKRI, and who are based at an institution that is part of a Wiley Transitional Agreement, can publish in any of Wiley’s ‘hybrid’ journals, including the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry (JCPP) and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) journal.
