Understanding Trauma – Ask The Expert; recording
For this session we welcomed David Trickey to share his knowledge and insights into trauma, specifically exploring children’s responses to traumatic events, when it might become problematic, how it might present itself and why schools make perfect therapeutic environments to support young people who have experienced trauma. David also answered questions in a session facilitated by leading education professional Professor Barry Carpenter.

This critical appraisal was undertaken by Information Scientist Douglas Badenoch and form part of the wider session for our informal journal club CAMHS around the Campfire. Suicide in children and young people: Everyone’s concern – recording
The topic of suicide has been identified as a high priority area, particularly in the context of Covid and lockdown, and subject we should all be concerned with. This practically focused online conference, organised by ACAMH Scottish Branch, had talks from clinicians, education professionals, leading agency and charity professionals, and Public Health Scotland.
