Editorial: Innovative methods of identifying and treating high risk groups of children and young people

Abstract
Innovation in practice is important if we are to succeed in engaging and maintaining in treatment, young people who are experiencing a range of mental health problems. This edition of the journal highlights a number of innovative methods of intervention (e.g. DBT and contemporary music skills), and assessment for trauma and routine outcome measurement for young people. It also examines the role of general practitioners and paediatric liaison services in identifying and supporting the many children who present in general health settings.
