Pablo Vidal-Ribas Belil is a Ramón y Cajal Investigator in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Research Group at the Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu (IRSJD), Barcelona, Spain. His research focuses on using clinical, epidemiological, and neuroimaging approaches to identify risk and protective factors of mood disorders in young people, including depression, anxiety, irritability, and suicidality. Dr. Vidal-Ribas earned two master’s degrees in Child and Adolescent, and in Adult Psychopathology while undertaking a 4-year training as a Clinical Psychologist in Barcelona, Spain. He later completed his Ph.D. in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience at King’s College London in the United Kingdom (UK), for which he was awarded the King’s College London Outstanding PhD Thesis Prize. Dr Vidal-Ribas was part of Dr. Argyris Stringaris’ research group in UK and later in the United Sates (US), the Mood Brain and Development Unit, at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). He later completed a Postdoctoral fellowship at the Social and Behavioral Science Branch, led by Dr. Stephen E. Gilman, at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), US.
