Published data on the Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL) and the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) indicate that both are efficient screeners for the identification of psychiatric disorders in youth.
Systematic reviews are a useful method for examining the utility of symptom scales to assess youth mental health disorders.
Dimensional symptom scales can be used to help identify areas of difficulty associated with mental health disorders in children and adolescents.
